The add accommodation form
The add accommodation form is divided into three main sections. The accommodation section, the standard rates section and the peak rates section.
Accommodation section fields
Accommodation type - A high level categorization of accommodation typically found in kennels and catteries. Please contact us if you have an accommodation type which isn't present that you believe should be included in this list.
Description - A description of your specific implementation of the aforementioned accommodation type. This field is optional, but it helps customers to choose your listing if you explain unique characteristics of your accommodation that stands out from your competitors.
Minimum Occupancy - The minimum number of animals that can stay in this accommodation type.
Maximum Occupancy - The maximum number of animals that can stay in this accommodation type.
Quantity - The quantity of this accommodation type you have at your listing. It is important to represent this quantity as accurately as possible because it is used by UpWoof to calculate your listing's current availability.
Standard rates
Standard rates represent the default price of a particular accommodation type. When no peak rate exists for the dates that a reservation has been booked for then the standard rate is applied. Each accommodation type you have for your listing must have at least one standard rate. Often there is only one standard rate for each accommodation type, but you may choose to have different standard rates depending on the occupancy. For example you may allow a customer to book a double unit for only one pet with the standard rate being lower than when the same unit is booked with two pets.
Standard rate section fields
Name - A short name to help you differentiate this standard rate from other standard rates you may have for the same accommodation type e.g. Indoor Single Unit - Max Occupancy.
Price per Day - The price per day you charge for this standard rate in the currency that your business uses.
Maximum Occupancy - The maximum number of occupants your standard rate applies to. If you only intend to have one standard rate for your accommodation type then this value should be the maximum number of occupants the accommodation type supports.
Peak rates
Peak rates are temporary rates that you apply to specific date ranges when you typically experience higher than average demand. Peak rates are optional, you can have as many as you wish to have for a specific accommodation type. When the customer makes a reservation UpWoof looks at each day of the reservation and determines whether or not a peak rate exists for that day. If a peak rate exists for the day then it will be used, otherwise the standard rate will be used. Depending on the dates that a customer books you may find the invoice consists of just peak rate charges, just standard rate charges, or a combination of both peak and standard rate charges.
Peak rate section fields
Peak rate section fields are largely the same as standard rate section fields. The only difference between peak rate fields and standard rate fields is that peak rate fields have a start date and a finish date. Use these dates to indicate when a peak rate should be applied to a reservation.
Changing Accommodation
To change accommodation click the change link next to the accommodation that you wish to change.
The change accommodation link
This will load the accommodation form allowing you to change the attributes of the selected accommodation type. The form behaves the same way as described in the previous Adding Accommodation section, the only exception being rather than adding a new accommodation type to your listing you are changing an existing accommodation type.
Removing Accommodation
To remove a particular accommodation type click the remove link next to the accommodation type that you want to remove. By removing a particular accommodation type from your listing it will no longer be available to reserve when creating new reservations. Reservations using the accommodation type being removed that exist at the time of removal will continue to use the accommodation type after it is removed unless they are updated to use a different accommodation type.
