Off platform reservations


Reservation requests made to your listing via phone call, email or any means other than via UpWoof.com are referred to by UpWoof as "off platform reservations". Even if a reservation originates off platform, listing's can still use UpWoof to manage the reservation. This ensures all your reservations are being managed by a single system.

UpWoof does not charge any fees for off platform reservations, however depending on how you choose to receive payment for the reservation you may incur Stripe fees. For example if you accept payment on UpWoof.com via credit card for your off platform reservation then Stripe's credit card processing fee would apply. It is possible to manage all your off platform reservations in UpWoof without paying any fees if you wish to do so. It is up to you to decide if the added convenience of using the Stripe financial infrastructure seamlessly integrated with the UpWoof platform is worth the extra cost. 
 

Creating an off platform reservation


Off platform reservations are created via the reservations page for your listing. The reservations page for your listing is found on the listing's management dashboard. See "The listing management dashboard" for details on how to access your listing's management dashboard.

You should now be on your listing's reservations page. From this page click the Add Reservation button. This will launch the "off platform reservation wizard" where you can create an off platform reservation.

Step 1 of the off platform reservation wizard allows you to supply a customer for the reservation. This can be done by searching for an existing customer or adding a new customer. When you have supplied a customer, click the Next Step button to continue to step 2 of the wizard.

Add a customer to your reservation
Step 2 of the off platform reservation wizard allows you to supply the guests (pets) that will be staying with you. If you've selected an existing customer you may be able to choose from the pets already associated with their UpWoof account.

If the required guest is not present, you will need to add this pet to the customer's account. Click the Add Pet button to launch the Add Pet modal window which will allow you to create a new pet record for the customer. When you have added the new pet assign it to the reservation in the Assign Pets section of the page then click the Next Step button to continue to step 3 of the wizard.

Step 3 of the off platform reservation wizard allows you to supply the duration (check in/checkout dates) of the reservation as well as the drop off and pick up times. When you have set the check in and checkout dates and selected the drop off and pick up windows click the Next Step button to continue to step 4 of the wizard.

Step 4 of the off platform reservation wizard allows you to supply the accommodation the guests will be using. If you require more than one unit click the Add More Units button to add additional units. When you have set the accommodation for the reservation click the Next Step button to continue to step 5 of the wizard.

Step 5 of the off platform reservation wizard provides a summary of the reservation. If everything looks good click the Create Reservation button to finalize the reservation. If you need to make changes click the back link in the bottom left of the page to return to the wizard step you want to change.

Congratulations! You have created an off platform reservation in UpWoof. The customer will be notified of this reservation and invited to join UpWoof if they do not already have an account. It is not necessary for a customer to join UpWoof for you to be able to progress the reservation through to completion, including receiving payment. However if the customer does join UpWoof they will have access to a lot more information about their reservation, and they will be able to make repeat reservations with your listing more quickly in the future.
